Host your child’s next birthday party or celebration at the Cayton Children’s Museum! Located right off the beach in vibrant Downtown Santa Monica, the Cayton offers a 21,000 square-foot playground with 35 discovery-based exhibits, art studios, a state of the art theatre, a gallery pop-up space, mural walls and community space—all in the center of retail and hospitality at Santa Monica Place. Whether you are planning a birthday party for 30 children or a celebration for hundreds, we offer a number of discrete spaces or the whole museum for private buy-outs.  

When you book our space, you work with our event professionals to create a package that meets your needs. We work with a network of preferred event vendors, caterers, performers and artists, photographers and more, so you can focus on the one blowing out the candles.  

What your booking includes:

  • Entry fee to the Museum
  • A discrete, private space for lunch, cake, opening gifts and more

  • A dedicated Cayton representative (one for every 40 kids)

Our team will work with you to create a customized menu selection for your guests, working with our dining partners in Santa Monica Place. Catering packages can be customized for 15 to 500 people. Contact us for a full list of preferred vendors. Please note no outside catering.


Parking is available in the City’s public parking structures. Structure 7 (entrance off of Broadway) and Structure 8 (entrance off of Colorado Ave) are immediately adjacent to Santa Monica Place. The first 90 minutes of parking are complimentary; the hour thereafter is $2 and between $2 to $3 for each additional 30 minutes. If you would like to host self-parking for your guests, we can arrange parking validation for you. Rates range from $6 to $17 depending on the length of event.
